Weekend in Pictures... and some rambling!

I wanted to participate in the 30 day challenge but there's no way I could keep up. Maybe I'll jump in here or there to write some of the topics but for now, I'm out. I am, however, LOVING reading the entries of those who are participating. Nothing much has really been happening around here other than sleep issues and being tired. Sadie is teething or growing or something because she's been screaming and miserable at night. It hasn't been fun but it seems to be winding down. Unfortunately I'm now unable to sleep. I think that once you're up so often for so long you end up in that pattern. This weekend was beautiful so despite wanting to sleep all day we took full advantage of the nice weather. First though, on Friday night, we went to an indoor gym. We've been to several now and seem to have finally found the one we *love*. These playgrounds are so hit and miss and many of the ones we've been to are just not nice at all. I had kept wondering why their websites all sucked and now I think it's because if you actually knew what you were getting into, you wouldn't go. This one was different. It had natural light, was not in an industrial area (so many are in warehouses) and had really nice working toys. I think its really lame to charge kids to come in and play and then have crappy toys that don't work. The below pic is of Sadie humouring me by playing on an age appropriate play structure. She prefers playing with the big kids, going head first down slides and escaping out of my reach. I have bruised knees from crawling after her but it's fun and a great workout! On Saturday afternoon we went to the Village of Port Credit which is on the lake and has shops and a nice park. Sadie had fun running around like crazy and head diving down slides. Afterward we drove out to the Air Port. I was hoping to catch some landings but we weren't there at the right time for that and only caught some planes taking off. Hanging out at the airport is seriously one of my favourite things. I love standing under the planes as they come roaring above.

Walking to the park:

Swinging!

On Sunday we went to visit Orion who belongs to one of our friends. He is a gorgeous and very large horse! Sadie had a really great time petting him, brushing him and feeding him carrots. He was very sweet and we have an invite to visit him any weekend we want since our friend is always there!

On the way home we went shopping. Sadie didn't get these sunglasses but I think I'll go back for them! She did score her very own suitcase! Finally, Sunday dinner! Sadie had corn on the cob, bbq chicken, bread, tomato and cucumber. Yummy!! We had a great weekend!

  1. Great pictures. I love the one of Sadie pulling the suitcase. Such a big kid!

I know what you mean about indoor playgrounds. I once took Erik to one and after we were there a while, I noticed mouse droppings by some of the toys. I couldn't believe it and was out of there so fast!

It's funny you mentioned the airport because I was just thinking the other day that I wanted to take the kids there to see some planes take off/land.

A lot of indoor playgrounds are crap. Which one was that?

We loved Little Feet in Whitby but it closed. :( Great for very small kids as max age is 5.

We should all get together soon!!!
