Sadie's First Birthday - PART ONE

To celebrate Sadie's first birthday we packed our bags and drove to Toronto to spend the night at the Sheraton Centre Hotel. We'd always wanted to stay at this hotel while living in the city but who pays for a hotel in a city they live in?
The hotel was as great as we'd expected it to be. The lobby was huge and busy yet we were able to quickly check in, hours early. They even gave Sadie a cute stuffed cat hand puppet which was an unexpected surprise!

We were quickly off to Rogers Centre to take Sadie to see the noon showing of Disney on Ice!

The Birthday Girl:
It's Mickey Mouse!!
Disney Friends:
She Loved it!!:
We knew it was a bit risky taking her to a show so young but we'd already taken her to a Raptors game and she'd loved that. I got a little bit teary eyed watching her as the characters came pouring out onto the ice. She was so excited! She had a really good time and I'm so glad we decided to go. Since Disney on Ice is normally in Toronto at this time of year we will likely make this trip a birthday tradition (until she's too old for it).

After the show we went to lunch at Sadie's new favourite restaurant and the restaurant I craved like a mad woman when I was pregnant: East Side Marios!

Enjoying a Birthday ice cream cone:
Uh Oh!:
I liked the cone better anyway:
After lunch we went back to the hotel where Sadie played a bit until we went swimming.

Playing on the bed (Check out her special Birthday tights for Disney On Ice!):

View from our Hotel Room (we had a similar but smaller/different angle view from our Hospital room last year):

Swimming:
Why did I ever want to swim OUTSIDE in the cold of winter? It was seriously COLD out there! D enjoyed it but I didn't! Sadie stayed inside in the warm!!

We wrapped up our evening with some snacks in the room (we'd had a huge lunch) and put Sadie to bed. D and I stayed up and watched Tangled (Disney movie) on the Hotel TV. I love watching "still in theatre" movies in hotels! We'd wanted to see Tangled so we were really happy it was an option.

More Birthday fun to come in another post!! To Be Continued...
